No Qt Platform Plugin Error

If you are receiving the following error, it is likely that you are trying to run Scapple on an unsupported version of Windows:

“This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the program may fix this issue.”

Please note that the minimum operating system for running Scapple 1.4x is 64-bit Windows 10.

For users running Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or 32-bit Windows, please download Scapple 1.2.6 from our Legacy Downloads page.

Scapple boards are compatible between 1.2.6 and 1.4x, with some caveats. Boards created in the newer version and opened and saved in 1.2.6 will lose some new internal settings, which may affect the layout and note widths in the older version. Once the board is edited in 1.2.6, the board will use 1.2.6 settings when returned to 1.4x.
