As I was going through the tutorial, I came across the following very minor issues, so I thought I'd mention them in case they're not already known.

Tutorial:

Doc: The Editor:

‘The Format bar appears’: It wasn’t there at the time I read this. I wonder if it would be helpful to add (‘If you don’t see it, press View > Text Editing > Show Format Bar’ (cmd-shift-R)’)

Doc: The Outliner:

‘You can move items around using keyboard the keyboard…’ : remove first ‘keyboard’.

Doc: Section Types

‘2. Change the setting to “Structure-Based” (It will change back to “Chapter” in italicised text.).’ : Actually, it changes back to As Is for me.

Doc: Style

“**The** do not include paragraph formatting such as line spacing and indents." : Spelling — should be ’They’

Doc: Transcription

In the comment attached to “the message was not for me”, the word ‘interview’ is spelled wrongly.

Great, thanks for these. I've been through and fixed all the typos. However:

Format bar: this is a project-level setting and is set to be open for the tutorial by default, so you must have hidden it before you got to this point. It's unlikely new users will have done that.

Section Types: I double-checked this, and it does change to "Chapter" as described in the text. You must have messed around with the structure settings for it to come up as "As-Is", or changed it for the document.

    All the best,
    Keith

    Cheers Keith,

The point about the format bar / Chapter things wasn’t that the text was ‘wrong’, just that there were ways in which what was described in the text could be different, so I wondered whether a short note recognising this would help (not everybody will do the Tutorial straight off) to head off any queries at the pass.

Appreciate you can’t put everything in, and not a big deal anyway…

BTW, I’m finding it rock-solid and a pleasure to use. I won’t say it’s a great improvement (because Version 2 was already excellent...) but V3 is better still.

    Thanks very much

    David

    Hi David,

My point about the format bar though was that whether it is visible or not is a project setting. So even if you've turned it off in other projects, when you open the tutorial, it will be visible. If you've turned it off elsewhere *and* in the tutorial before you get to that part, I think it's safe to assume that you know what the format bar is. :)

I'm glad you're finding everything solid and pleasurable, even if over three years of work don't constitute a "great improvement"!

    All the best,
    Keith

You know perfectly well what I mean — if I’d said it’s a great improvement that would have implied V2 was rubbish and it wasn’t!

Seriously, and for the avoidance of doubt in case it’s not already clear, I think 3 is brilliant…
