Open External File Bookmark in Copyeditor?
This discussion is public.
This maybe related to this bug by rguthrie: 121-bookmarks-open-in-external-editor. I have a PDF as a bookmark, and it is an external file (thus an alias). There is an option to "View on Current Editor's copyholder", which is a great idea, however when I try it I get:
Bookmark not Found. The linked document could not be found - it may have been deleted from the project.
Using "Open in Current Editor" however works fine.

Thanks! I can reproduce that one easily. The message is a bit confusing in that this isn't an alias, nor is the item stored anywhere in the project, it is purely a file:/// link, referenced directly off of the disk.

Thanks, this should now be fixed for the next build.

Oops. Actually, it's sort of working, but I forgot the code that actually *opens* the copyholder. So at the moment, it only works if the copyholder is already open. I've fixed this for the next build.
There's also a bug whereby if you open a binder document on a copyholder from the bookmarks contextual menu, you receive a message telling you the bookmark couldn't be opened, when it has in fact opened. That's fixed for the next build too.
