Please keep all feedback pertaining to the German translation of Scrivener's UI to this thread.

NOTE: Please try to explain all issues in English, as we only speak English ourselves, although we will be passing all feedback on to our translators.

Thanks!

HOW TO POST FEEDBACK

When posting suggestions for changing translations, I would be grateful if you could do it in this format from now on:

++ Place in Interface

"Current Translation" = "Suggestion"

"Another Translation" = "Another Suggestion"

For instance:

++ Main Menu:

"Navigation" = "Blah Blah"

"Outliner Options" = "Blah blah"

++ Inspector:

"Comments" = "Better Word"

++ Compile:

"Compile" = "Suggestion"

And so on. This will allow me to copy your suggestions straight into my new updating tools with very little editing and so ensure they are applied. If you would rather send me a file with all the suggestions, please just use the above format and put it into a plain text file. Thanks!

    A new beta is going out today in which the entire UI has been translated. (Please note that the tutorial and documentation are not translated.) Because Scrivener has been evolving a little during the translation period, there may well be a few phrases or words that are still in English because they changed or were added to Scrivener while the translators were working. Please let us know all problems you find, including any phrases you find that are still in English.

    Thanks!

    Main Menu Title "Einsatz" is wrong. It should be called "Einfügen".
    One more suggestion for the submenu.

    Under Main Menu "Darstellung", first Submenu item "Document" -> should be "Dokument".

    My comments for main menu "Projekt"
    In generell I guess the wording "darstellen" is not perfectly right for calling up an option or to view things on screen. It's not wrong but the better word is "anzeigen" (displayed).

    Menu "Bearbeiten" -> "Sprache" ... should be actually "Sprachausgabe".
    "Sprache" means just "Language" but using this option, my Mac is talking to me. ;-)

    I'm actually a little bit disappointed. Many of the previously submitted suggestion from the beta-testers have not been considered, not implemented or the respective menu items are still wrong, some remaining in English, so not translated correctly.
    After a few weeks waiting for the translation results, I wonder what the externals have really worked on ... hope you did not pay too much for it. ;-) ;-) ;-)

    If there is a dialog with tabs and subitems, like "preferences" / "Einstellungen" -> shared templated, then its not necessary to repeat "shared" or "common" underneath each control element, because the user already knows he's in the "shared templates view". So description can be shortened in many cases I saw. Here some examples and corrections/suggestions.

    Mainmenu [Einsatz] should be replaced with [Einfügen].

    "Einsatz" means "a mission", like "mission impossible". ;-)

    Hi,

    Could everyone please double-check that they are working from the right beta. The beta you should be working from is:

    Version 2.9.5 (19746)

    Some of the screenshots here seem to be of an older version. For instance, here are a couple of screenshots showing that some of the English phrases shown in this thread are properly translated in the latest beta:

    Scrivenings

    Progress

    Thanks!
